EEZ un Norvēģijas grantu divpusējās sadarbības fonda stratēģiskās iniciatīvas pieteikums “Mikroplastmasas piesārņojuma dinamika un izplatība Latvijas un Islandes jūru un ezeru ūdeņos – jauna sadarbības virziena uzsākšana” saņem dotācijas 51 893 EUR no Islandes, Lihtenšteinas un Norvēģijas EEZ un Norvēģijas grantu ietvaros. Projekta mērķis ir izveidot paliekošas zinātniskās sadarbības saites ar donorvalsts partneri, kopīgi pētot mikroplastmasas piesārņojumu Latvijas un Islandes ūdeņu biotopos. Iniciatīva veicinās Latvijas un Islandes zinātnes attīstību un starptautiskā prestiža celšanu, kā arī iesaistīto institūciju atpazīstamību.
Iniciatīvas pieteikums tapis izmantojot pēcdoktorantūras projektā 1.1.1.2/16/I/001, pētniecības pieteikuma nr. 1.1.1.2/VIAA/2/18/359) iegūtās zināšanas un pieredzi.
